The 7-Day Uganda Chimpanzee Tour and Wildlife Safari offers an incredible opportunity to experience Uganda’s diverse wildlife, including the African Big Five, and trek chimpanzees in Kibale National Park. This safari takes you to the “Primate Capital of the World,” Kibale Forest National Park, which boasts the highest population of chimpanzees in Uganda, as well as Murchison Falls and Semliki National Parks. You’ll have the chance to encounter four of the Big Five animals and visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, ensuring you see all five iconic species on a single safari.

Day 1: Arrival, Pick up and transfer to your hotel
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your driver-guide will be waiting to greet you and transfer you to your chosen accommodation. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Via via lodge.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls NP via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and evening game drive
In the morning after breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver guide at your lodge to begin your 7-day Uganda safari. On the way, we’ll stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino trekking experience on foot, giving you the chance to see these majestic creatures up close. We will have lunch along the route before continuing the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, we proceed and embark on an evening game drive where you will also happen to experience an African sunset coupled with more wildlife encounters including giraffes, elephants, waterbucks, Ugandan kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, hyenas, lions, leopards, buffaloes among others. Afterwards we proceed and check in at Ikromo Safari Lodge for a relaxing dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Game drive and Boat cruise
After an early breakfast, you will set out for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, offering the best opportunity to spot wildlife at its most active. Keep an eye out for big cats on the hunt, alongside elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and many other species—within a park that hosts over 76 mammal species. You will explore the game drive circuits towards the hippo’s pool. Following the game drive, you will return for lunch before heading out for a 2-hour boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the way, you will observe hippos in their pods, Nile crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, as well as elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species. This experience is especially rewarding for bird lovers. After the boat cruise, you will return to Ikorom Safari Lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 4: Viewing top of the falls and transfer to Kibale national park
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and proceed to the top of Murchison Falls, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the majestic waterfalls. Afterward, exit the park and enjoy an enroute lunch as you journey towards Kibale Forest National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass through the breathtaking landscapes of the Albertine Rift Valley Escarpments and the scenic countryside. Arrive in Kibale Forest National Park in the evening, where you’ll settle in for dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale forest camp.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
Begin your day with a delicious continental breakfast before heading to the Park Headquarters for a briefing on the great apes—chimpanzees. After the briefing, you’ll enter the dense forest to search for them. The tracking experience typically lasts between one and three hours and presents opportunities to encounter various other primate species, including grey-crowned cranes, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys, as well as numerous forest bird species, unique butterflies, reptiles, and amphibians. Your guide will alert you to the presence of chimps upon hearing their calls, and you’ll spend one hour observing them up close. After your chimpanzee experience, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Swamp for a guided walk, where you’ll have the chance to spot monkeys and various bird species. The walk takes you through grasslands, local communities eager to greet visitors, coffee plantations, and gardens where you’ll see how locals carry out their daily work. Later return for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 6: Transfer to Semuliki national park for Sempaya hot springs
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to Semliki national park for a guided nature walk to explore the Sempaya hot springs which is the major activity highlight in this iconic park. Visit both the male and the female hot springs as well as boiling eggs and bananas in this extremely hot water of the springs. After we transfer and visit the Amabeere ga nyinamwiru caves, waterfalls and hike the fort portal craters which is a nature rewarding walk. Return and check in at Koi koi cultural village hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Return back to Kampala/ Entebbe
After your morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on your return journey to Kampala/ Entebbe with lunch en-route along the way. upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at your preferred location or Entebbe international airport.
