This 3-day safari offers an unforgettable experience in Murchison Falls National Park, showcasing some of Uganda’s finest wildlife and natural wonders. Enjoy a thrilling boat cruise along the Nile River, where you will spot animals along the riverbanks and cruise to the base of the magnificent falls. The adventure includes two exciting game drives across the savanna, giving you the chance to encounter giraffes, elephants, and even search for lions. You will also visit the top of the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the Nile is forcefully squeezed through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular view. On your way to the park, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino trekking experience, offering a rare opportunity to see rhinos on foot and complete your Big Five sightings. This safari combines adventure and comfort, with activities including rhino trekking, a boat cruise, game drives, and a visit to the top of the falls, all while staying at a nature-based lodge near the park.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls NP via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary

Depending on your location either at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport—you will be picked up by your driver-guide for a brief safari orientation before beginning your 3-day Murchison Falls Safari adventure. Along the way, we will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a thrilling rhino trekking experience on foot, providing a rare opportunity to see these magnificent animals up close. Lunch will be served en route before continuing the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Depending on your arrival time, you may embark on an evening game drive or proceed directly to your reserved accommodation. Check in at Ikorom Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, offering the best opportunity to spot wildlife at its most active. Keep an eye out for big cats on the hunt, alongside elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and many other species—within a park that hosts over 76 mammal species. You will explore the game drive circuits towards the hippo’s pool. Following the game drive, you will return for lunch before heading out for a 2-hour boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Along the way, you will observe hippos in their pods, Nile crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, as well as elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species. This experience is especially rewarding for bird lovers. After the boat cruise, you will return to Ikorom Safari Lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 3: Viewing top of the falls and transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, we shall check out of the lodge and visit the top of Murchison Falls, a spectacular highlight of the safari where you’ll witness a powerful surge of water thundering through a narrow gorge at close range. Following this breathtaking experience, we will leave the park and begin our journey back to Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way. Your guide will drop you off either at the hotel or Entebbe international airport as we conclude your 3-day Murchison Falls safari.
